Why It Matters

In today’s hyperconnected India, cyber threats don’t just affect businesses — they target everyday people: students, homemakers, senior citizens, and small business owners. From mobile scams and phishing to deepfakes and data theft, cybercrime has become a real threat to public safety.

At MDIF, we believe true digital empowerment comes only when people are both connected and protected.

What We Do

Cyber Awareness & Literacy for All

  • Workshops, street plays, and school programs in cities, towns, and rural areas
  • Posters, videos, and toolkits in simple, regional languages
  • Targeted outreach for women, children, and senior citizens
  • Special drives for Digital Safety Week, cyber-bullying awareness, and more

Report Cybercrime & Seek Help Online

You can now report incidents or cyber threats through:

  • Our dedicated mobile app (Android & iOS)
  • The Report a Problem feature on our website
  • Guided help via Cyber-Rakshak (chat or voice)

Offline Support through Jan-Mitra Volunteers

Not everyone has access to smartphones or digital literacy. That’s why we’ve trained a network of Jan-Mitra volunteers across communities who:

  • Help people file cyber complaints
  • Educate villagers and seniors about mobile scams
  • Distribute printed safety kits and posters
  • Organize local cyber help desks during events

Policy & Legal Action

We also work to strengthen national and local policies by:

  • Conducting audits of unsafe apps & platforms
  • Recommending cyber protection policies to government bodies
  • Creating easy-to-understand explainers of laws like DPDPA
  • Offering pro bono legal support (through network partners)
